Two in the Morning

... stoned by the night air ... the boldness of lilacs

... they climb through open windows

... filling the house with footfalls of summer

The photograph is mine.

  1. Teresa,
How did you get such vivid colors?
Did you edit the image? I'd love to make a photo like this.

    1. John, Yes, I don't normally tweak photos to this degree, but it seemed to fit. I boosted the colors in Picasa, one of the photo editing places I go to ... it's a free download, if interested...

    1. Thank you, Bill. The lilacs are starting to wane, to be replaced soon by peonies...

  4. I love that deep dark purple or mauve against the dark green. Feels like the end of an autumn evening.

    1. Tweaking the photo a bit helped make it perfect for this post, I thought. I'm glad you like it.

  5. Dear Teresa, what a lovely phrase "footfalls of summer." I'm so glad you are writing your poems on a special blog and accompanying them with your own photographs. You have so much graciousness, compassion, and awareness to share. Thank you. Peace.

    2. Dear Teresa, once again I'm wending my way to Minnesota in mid-July, but the days are so full that meeting with you--something I'd so like to do--just doesn't work. One of the days though. . . I'll get to meet the Minnesota poet and photographer whose words have captured my fancy. Peace.
