Corn Crib Summer

                                               ... corn crib summer

floorboards lit by ribbons of sunlight

                                     dried husks under foot

                                                                           I climbed slatted walls

                                                                                                               ... lay beneath the eaves

    1. "Rustic little sanctuary," exactly! It was the best place to be when I was a child. I still recall hauling boards up to create the platform ... nice view, soft breeze... I can go right back there in my mind... Thanks, Seth.

  2. This is my first visit to your wonderful blog. I found today's entry especially captivating. I grew up on a small farm, and the verse and photo instantly returned me to my youth. I had a sense of comfort and of being there. Thank you.
