Mine are very late this year ... just coming on. They are, despite their large blooms, so fragile and oh so transitory. I wake up each morning to freshly fallen petals from my bouquets.
Yes ... I collect them some mornings from my table or floor where they've fallen and put them on a white plate. I also have dried them, to a small measure of success, and placed them in a tall glass vase. I love their exquisite unruliness. :)
Beautiful. I have peonies growing just outside my window where I have a dining table so I could identify with this. My peonies are sadly over now.

DeleteOur flower beds are awash with petals now. Even the fallen ones are so beautiful!
