From the White Pine


                                                       from the white pine across the road

                                                       a gossipy owl calls to let me know
 
                                                      the pelicans are taking up

                                                       all the room on the river and                                      

                                                      the mailman left a letter

      I couldn't resist seeing the owl as a news carrier ... and a gossipy party line one at that ... :)

      Those pelicans did take up a lot of room on the river, came by the hundreds that spring ... a party line owl seems appropriate on this country road ......
