warm sweet rain
come down on me ///
wash me ///
wash me clean ///
thank
you
thank
you
thank
you
This summer solstice finds us in drought. Under rain I would be as emphatic in my thanks. As it is, I appreciate the feeling your poem stirs.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Geo, and may California soon see enough rain to make a difference ...
DeleteI think it was Anne Lamott who said that her two most-said prayers are "Help me, help me, help me" and "Thank you, thank you, thank you." I say them a lot too. These days I mostly say the thank you prayer.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate Anne Lamott and her perspective on life (and writing). Thank you for this reminder. Yes, these days it's the thank you prayer that I am saying. :)
DeleteYou must be a rain lover like me, I know the feeling.
ReplyDeleteI love being out in the rain ... writing this poem provided a sweet sense of cleansing and purifying, and renewed contentment.
DeleteRain is renewal ..listening to it and being in it..it's peace from the skies...you captured the feeling of love for rain so well here..and just simply saying thank you ..how beautiful to feel such gratitude ..
ReplyDeleteYes, and a sense of purifying to it ... it is this, most of all, for which I'm grateful. I love being in the rain, walking, or piling brush ... one of my favorite things to do ... :)
DeleteThank you so much.
