From My Father's Window

                                                         ... from my father's window

... a bird feeder in the snow

... a grey squirrel stealing seeds

... and all the time that's left

  1. Extremely haunting - much like your previous father poem. And the photo, to me, really embodies that frozen feeling that one can be left with.

    1. Yes, when I saw that image pop out of "nowhere," I knew it was the one ... you see what I see and I'm deeply grateful.

  2. Another beautiful poem.
I agree with Seth that there is a haunting sense to the poem (particularly the image of time). Nevertheless I'm smiling, because I can imagine the squirrel dangling on the bird-feeder trying to get the seeds.

    1. Those squirrels are a tenacious bunch and seem a tad greedy at times... :)

  3. I see light at the end of that path. Beautiful poem, beautiful photo.
