The Compass in Your Heart

A new frontier is waiting for you  ... Go / don't dawdle

Harness the mules / pack the wagon / take everything

                                             You won't be returning

And don't forget the music box

The one that plays Some Enchanted Evening

You'll need it on the trail

Leave the maps / put down that compass

You know true north / it's in your heart

Go / and don't look back

You'll know when you get there

  1. Sometimes it's good to be spontaneous. Just pack what you think is necessary and get out there. Enjoyed the post.

  2. I sometimes tell myself, "I'll know where I am once I lose sight of all shores." This captures that awareness so succinctly.

    1. It's very hard to let go of the shore and trust, but sometimes it's all we have left...

  3. I've traveled many times without a map and ended up in some good places (metaphorically and real). Nice photo and words. -- barbara

    1. As I have I, both geographically and metaphorically. Learning to listen to my inner compass is an ongoing practice. I woke up today with a renewed commitment to be a better listener...

  4. I've been following the compass in my heart and head my entire life. Although I've never been lost I have wandered in circles a few times. That's good for the soul too. Helps us to find our inner selves.

    1. I've taken a most circuitous route to Here, but it's all made the journey very interesting... Yes, it does help us to "find our inner selves." Thank you for that, Bill.
