I find the statuary in cemeteries fascinating. They are so full of emotions. One comes to mind which shows a dog sitting on the grave of her master, just waiting for her.
Dear Teresa, I find myself thinking long thoughts as I look at the cemetery statuary of the photograph--about the text I once wrote for an unpublished book of angel statues. About the tears that so many children are crying throughout the world because of hunger and abuse and loneliness. About the tears of women forced into submission. Weeping rivers. Peace.
This breaks my heart...
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like to live in a world where hearts don't get broken...
DeleteI hope that these prove, in the end, to be healing tears.
ReplyDelete... perhaps all tears, ultimately, lead to healing. Thank you, Seth.
