Back to Back

... I wanna be sitting back to back with you in our room

... pounding away on our old Royal typewriters

                  til 3:45 a.m. / classes starting at 8:00

  1. I remember those times. Couldn't survive those nights now, I suppose.

  2. The energy was well-spent, and applied to experience. It is what we remember of education --what we were capable of-- and has remained in the sturdiest parts of us, our thoughts.

    1. "... the sturdiest parts of us, our thoughts." It seems so. Thank you.

  3. I was an early study kind of fellow. Preferred late evenings to be for play. Still I remember studying all night memorizing some long Latin passages, parts of which I randomly and occasionally remember.

    1. I liked the quiet energy late at night and would often stay up til wee hours of the morning til I made myself go to bed for a few hours, I sorta miss that. :)

  4. How I remember those late hours, little sleep, click clack of the typewriter keys, panic and proof I could get the job done in the end. Pulled an all-nighter a few weeks ago. Old age as opposed to last minute creativity. Still recuperating. Loved Back to Back.

    1. I've had a few sleepless nights myself, and not due to creativity.
      Thanks, Penny. :)
