Midnight Rain

... midnight rain on river road

                    ... shadows on sheer curtains

... another car carrying you further away

  1. There is something sleepy and personal about this. I spent my 1st nine years on a river road among such shadows and sounds.

  2. There's a river road I drive when I head to the hill country, and of course there's the Great River Road that I love. I think it's the sense of parallel movement that I love, and the fact that the river never stops.

    1. Yes, both those things, and at night I love being able to hear it just beyond the trees ... it's comforting, yet exhilarating . :)

  3. Perfect images here. You certainly have a way of weaving words into never seen before fabrics. Wonderful.

  4. Whether you posted this again by accident or intent, I'm so glad you did. I often don't go back and browse the archives, but a good poem is always worth a second read, or a third.

    1. I had no idea it returned as re-posted ... it's at its original date ... a mystery without any clues ... but I'm glad you came back, too. :)
