Icarus' Sister

... crawling up hay bales / through the skylight ... to the roof of the barn

... wanting to get a little closer to the sun ... Icarus' timid sister

  1. Timid sister. You?? I think of you as almost fearless, with the possible exception of the federales who come around from time to time.

    1. I'm very happy to know you think of me this way ... I suppose I have demonstrated fearlessness more than I have felt it at times ...

      Darn federales. :)

  2. This fits in sensibly with the escape of Daedalus and Icarus from captivity. Hay bales are more reliable if one is working without a net.

    1. Indeed, they are. I have all too often worked without a net. It might well be a metaphor for my life ... :)

  3. Perhaps Icarus' prudent sister. Hay bales can be more dependable than feathers.

  4. We are attracted to things we are not intimately familiar with. Isn't that human nature? Personally I've been burned more than once because of this human trait.

    1. As have I ... :))

There was something about being perched up on that roof that just made me feel empowered as a child.
