The Last Piece of Summer

... early march / snowbound again

... at the bottom of the mason jar

... the last piece of summer

  1. Dear Teresa, how well I remember my mom canning in our farmhouse. We had no indoor plumbing and so all the water had to be pumped from the well and brought indoors and boiled on the stove for the jars and lids.

And yes, I remember also the last bit of summer opened in the last days of winter. Thank you for the memories. Peace.

  3. This makes me think of lean times, but a simpler life as well...a direct relationship with Earth and sustenance. I long for that. :)

    1. Simple has often meant lean, but these times seem to hold those things of true substance, as well. I continue to simplify my life... Thank you so much for commenting, Seth.
