in a tin once filled with chocolates
degas and his dancers on the lid
scissors / sewing needles / spools of thread
a small orange box that held a pair of earrings
moonstones set in silver
and a book of matches
where I wrote down this memory
Painting by Edgar Degas
This is beautiful! :)

DeleteThank you, so much, Rita. :)
Exquisite. There is a box that began with chocolates and endures in unending utility. Je crois que monsieur Degas approuverait. Brava!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. If I'm translating correctly, I'm glad you think Degas would approve.
DeleteIt's so good to hear from you.
I've read several of your pieces here and on Twitter. So much beauty found in simple things and expressed deeply in few words. I invite you, if you wish, to visit my blog at https://ravensong-poetry.blogspot.com/.
