Where Your Ashes Now Lie

                                     I pass through the gate
                                     where your ashes
                                     now lie

                                     the lilacs you planted
                                     in bloom

  1. We could do worse than bequeath to beloved Earth our carbon. I intend to. Almost all the human body is made up of six elements: oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, calcium, and phosphorus. Carbon, among the elements that don't float away, are necessary for future life-forms. We are all dust from the same flower.

    1. I intend to, as well. And I love your last statement. :)

  3. O Teresa, you have no idea how close to my heart ( and reality) that is.

  4. I am feeling a sense of powerful nostalgia here and I don’t know why. But, as part of this vast network called existence each of us are interconnected in time, though we may not fully aware of that. As I read this poem again and again, I feel an unknown silence reigning upon me and it gives rise to a blissful feeling within me. I love this oneness with nature and time expressed in your works. Lovely.
