... in perfect blue stillness the hours entered another world ... I became him / he became me ... so ... now I have to ask / did he pass on ... or did I?
In memory of my beloved Buddy (Feb 10, 2011 - Apr 13, 2018)
I'm so sorry, Teresa. I lost my Dixie Rose this year, and the silence still seems immeasurable. I'm glad I got to know Buddy through your blog, and I'm even more glad that you had him for all those years.
I'm so sorry for your loss. It is difficult to deal with the silence and I miss our routines of the day. The absence of his quiet evening companionship is very hard to deal with, still ...
Thank you, Kathleen. Yes, I have left Twitter and I do believe it's permanent. I'm feeling more peaceful, but miss the companionship of fellow poets such as yourself. Thanks so much for reaching out.
I apologize to all you beautiful people for my delay in responding to your thoughtful comments. Something happened at blogger and none of them showed up in my email for moderation ... no indication they existed until today, when I did some further digging. I'm so glad I found them.
Dear Terese, I am so sorry that Buddy died. I hope the memories the two of you shared are comforting you now. I've just read your postings after this and I want you to know that the questions "Did Buddy die or did you?" is one I've asked each time a beloved cat has died or a friend whom I cherished. Remember Donne's lines from a poem "Do not ask for whom the bell tolls. It tolls for thee." And that truth is given us again and again as we age and more and more of our loved ones die. Peace.
What a beautiful surprise! I cannot tell you how happy I am to "see" you again! I was recently thinking of you and remembering fondly our blogging years and all the thoughtful comments you left on my posts. Thank you so much for commenting on the loss of my sweet Buddy. He was the perfect companion.
I am well and hope you are, also. We've entered fall here, my favorite time of year. Thank you again for reaching out. What a wonderful way to start my day. :)
Buddy added something important to your definition of love. That will always be with you. This poem will reach a lot of people.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Geo. He added immeasurable qualities to my life and boundless love.
