Baskets Return to the Grass

... baskets return to the grass / pots become sherds

... still, we walk through meadows

... gather white clay along the creek

  2. Beautiful, Teresa. I can feel the pull of changing seasons in your words here and that faint bit of hope that comes with change. Love this.

  3. "Baskets return to the grass" -- that single image is so resonant. The poem as a whole is wonderful: comforting, rather than cheaply nostalgic, as some can be. The image you chose is wonderful.

  4. Fascinating. Older I get, the more I sense time running in two directions at once. You've nailed it here. Brava!
