Letters

... in my mother's shaking hand / in a metal box with hinged lid

                                                              ... one hundred fifteen letters

  1. That is beautiful and touches, deeply. I feel to be standing in a doorway - but cannot step further..

    1. Thank you, Ray, for your beautiful comment. I don't usually put much weight on certain dates, but my mother passed sixteen years ago today and for some reason it's on my mind ...

  2. It would appear we were orphaned around the same time, and given letters to inform the future.

  3. Beautiful. These dates catch us, don't they, and we have a little catch in our hearts. You took yours and put it beautifully to words. I know the box, the shaking hand . . . very touching.

  4. In this vast universe, messages come in many forms and one is through letters. A scene well laid within a few words. Time do not wait for anyone, but old age waits for everyone. The letters are trail of memories....nostalgic! Nice.

  5. These words evoke so much emotion and curiosity. A good way to open a book both metaphorically and in reality. This image will stay in my mind for a while!

  6. Somehow one hundred fifteen emails just doesn't cut it. I'm so happy to revisit your bog after a long retreat and to find you are still winging out beautiful images into this peculiarly tawdry period we're enduring in America. I would like to step into the world you project and close the door behind me.

    1. What a beautiful surprise ! It's so good to hear from you ... I'm still here, not as frequently as I once was but life is good despite the political tawdriness. :)

You're welcome in my world anytime ... :)

  7. Blog not bog :). Bogged down is what I feel, but yes, there is beauty to be found and good people
