  1. Engaging observation, Teresa. Golden Mean generates a ratio that goes on forever --good thing too!

    1. I have long loved this ... the golden mean, golden ratio, divine proportion ... it speaks to me so clearly of the circle of life ... the infinitude of all life ... and of the beauty of the design inherent in all life. Thank you, Geo., for commenting.

  2. I've only come to an understanding of the golden mean over the past two or three years -- through wildflowers, actually. One of my favorite wildflower photographers also is a mathematician, so of course he highlights the Fibonacci sequence where it exists.

This is a perfect pairing of words and image. I was so taken by the photo when I first saw it. Then, I saw "Edward Weston," and thought: well, of course. What an image.

    1. I rarely write for an image, but this was an exception. The minute I saw it, the words arrived and it felt right ...

  4. Since high school I've read books, articles, anything I could get my hands on regarding the divine proportion, golden ratio and all things in nature. In my view it represents the continuum of our universe and unravels mysteries of how nearly everything fits together. Perhaps it holds the secret of perfect harmony, if there is such a thing.
