Wild Geese

... wild geese circle the field gathering stragglers

... the old man stands at the mailbox / wondering where everyone went

  2. As a longtime gardener of public places, I watched geese land and bulk up and choose sides --numbers always increasing. Now, in retirement, I wonder where my own friends wandered off to. Geese have some strange advantage over me socially, I think.

    1. Exactly, Geo. We would do well to look at and practice some of the ways of the natural world. I know I have much to learn from it.

    1. We would do well to gather stragglers instead of letting a sense of solitariness take hold ...

  4. Though I personally prefer solitude I'm comforted to know that there are those who care for others who need them.

    1. yes ... I am quite reclusive, but we live in a society of increasing solitariness and too often it's forced ... I keep company mostly with nature as I know you do, too ... and how... :)
