The Scent of Sunlight

                       ... bed sheets on the clothesline

                                                                 ... tonight I sleep with the scent of sunlight

                                        ... my mother on washday

                                                                                          ... the back porch when I was five

    Absolutely. Haven't smelled that for a long time, but it's definitely the sent of sunlight and mother.

    I can think of nothing that smells better than outdoor dried sheets. I like to think I can smell the wind in the fabric. And even better when they are cold on a warm night!

      I'm so glad the weather is allowing it again. Yes, the wind, too! Looking forward to a summer of clothes on the line... and, yes, their coooolness on warm nights ... love it.

      That first time of hanging laundry on the line is the best! And that scent never fails to make me happy and comforted.
