Our Second Date

... on our second date / he showed me his tractor stored in his barn

... looking like it just crawled out of the dust bowl

... he knew the way to my heart

  1. I like this very much! Coming from a rural background, I know not every girl is brought home to meet one's tractor. A special fondness was at work.

    1. Yes, "a special fondness." Alas, it was short-lived. I sure did like his tractor, though ... :)

  2. I love that sentiment! That's earthy reality and rare in its innocence.

  3. At least for a time he must have thought you very special to share the dusty tractor with you. I don't know exactly why but this sure did give me a chuckle!

    1. On our third date, he wanted to "just go ahead and get the license," ... sure glad I took a wait and see attitude ... :))

  4. Now that’s true love. For a while, anyway.

    It’s a lovely thought.

  5. This calls to me in the way young love often does, Teresa - and what you express so touchingly in your poetry.
