Out of the Grey

... seeking answers I step outside

... out of the grey / five swans ... one / then four alone

  1. Engaging image. I can imagine the swans' curved necks and heads rising out of low fog like question marks.

  3. Gentle words formed the bridge to some questions. To seek answers one has to come out, a truth infallible. Stepping out of the familiar patterns of thoughts nor stepping out of a physical dwelling, I don't know. But, one thing I know. One has to step out if answers are to be sought.

Loved the usage of '....out of the grey'. It also represents the intermediate or meeting point of time in nature, especially dusk and emotions like depression, sorrow etc. Depiction of swans is really beautiful. It's a symbol of truth and purity in many traditions. And, swans also represent calmness.

"One has to step out if answers are to be sought." Yes, absolutely.

  4. This is astonishing read 'straight up', but it suggests symbolisms and levels brooding down below past your first contact with it. It has a feel of age to it.. like something recovered from.. long ago. It ripples in the air..

    1. This comment means so much to me .... yes, "something recovered from ... long ago." That something is my truest self, the self I have, indeed, recovered from long ago. Thank you, so much, for seeing this ...

  5. Further to the writing - I admire writers ability to collaborate.. don't know how it can be done unless two people are in the same room..

    1. Cletis and I have collaborated on several poems, most of which are from 2013/ early 2014 ... on his Tumblr: http://latenightfootfalls.tumblr.com/archive

We found a commonality in thought and expression that allows us to do so long distance.

    2. I have enjoyed those collaborations.. it's impressive to consider how something as singular as such personal poems, are the result of more than one mind and soul. I tip my hat..
